The Intrepid KF kart is dedicated to all those categories that use a single speed engine, whether it be a direct intake 100 cc engine or a modern engine used in KF categories (KF1, KF2, KF3 or KF4) rather than a generic TaG. Intrepid has always been highly successful in the KF category, winning the most prestigious and challenging competitions in every category, from K3 to the former Super KF categories.
GENERAL FEATURES There are two different KF category models: Sirius and Cruiser V. They have two different chassis designs, but both use the same tubes made from unique and specific compounds of various steels. No standard steel compounds already on the market have been used, as Intrepid has created "special recipes" for the production of these tubes. What are the benefits? You achieve maximum elasticity of the material according to the different conditions of adherence and grip on the various tracks and in different championships around the world. It is also possible to simulate the damping/suspension effect of racing cars that should congenitally be absent in karts for obvious reasons This research on special materials is constantly refined in order to achieve maximum performance and produce a vehicle that is fast in international competitions and also national events all over the world where they always use different tires.
DESIGN Particular attention in the design phase was given to the "C" which, using an innovative process, are not deformed when welded to the frame. This means that the characteristic angles should never need resetting to straighten out certain sections of the frame during the kart construction phase. All the models in this new range are fitted with brand new bearing carrier plates: their profile is higher and the housing is more rigid, thus allowing higher levels of exploitation of the elastic properties of the axle. A distinctive feature of the KF model are the spindles, with no installation of front brakes (only the FRM version has this optional accessory) but, if necessary, allow the integration of this accessory without having to swap the spindles for a different model. Moreover, the Ackerman angle has also been adjusted which impacts the steering lock angle and the behavior of the kart.
REALIZATION Particular care was given to the design and realization of all standard components, with attention to detail in the basic version, “a one-piece construction” without using the additional range of optionals or accessories. Examples of extreme construction accuracy are the adjustable footrests, hubs, brake pump, the rear brake calliper with radial coupling, and the bearing carrier flange.
The Intrepid Cruiser V model is the result of the experience gained on race tracks all over the world since 2006. In actual fact, like its “brother” Sirius, Cruiser V has raced in the most important international competitions, winning some of the most prestigious world championship titles. At a technical level, it distinguishes itself for its frame made of 30 mm diameter tubes. For this reason, the Cruiser V model is the perfect frame for those who want to get the most out of their kart. The precision with which it can be fine-tuned makes it ideal for drivers who like to tweak every detail of the structure. Moreover, generally speaking, the Cruiser V model is also the ideal kart when a driver finds himself face-to-face with a track that provides high grip levels on the asphalt. The design of the frame is a typical "two curve" setup. While the main feature of the Cruiser V model is the fact that, in the central section, its longitudinal tubes are perfectly parallel [1]. The central crossbar on the other hand is slightly curved in shape [2]. Cruiser V, like the Sirius model, has 3 removable stiffening bars: front [A] side [B] and rear [C].Sirius is the latest Intrepid branded kart to leave the production plant in Salizzole. It has a 32 mm tube frame, except for the front crossbar made from a 30 mm diameter tube.
This makes it easier to handle and, consequently, a more manageable frame, especially for drivers who are just starting their karting experience and, although they are using a high performing vehicle, prefer the easier setup. Overall, however, regardless of the driver’s driving experience and fine-tuning of the setup, the Sirius model is more suitable for more precarious grip conditions. Like its "brother", Cruiser V, the Sirius model also has a "two curve" frame. The differences lie mainly in the central part of the frame where the longitudinal tubes have different angles: arrow-shaped [1], in the case of the Sirius model. The central crossbar is also perfectly straight and perpendicular to the longitudinal axis [2]. Sirius, like the Cruiser Vl, has 3 removable stiffening bars: front [A] side [B] and rear [C].
