Located in Lodi, California, but with their minds firmly focused on Las Vegas, Leading Edge Motorsports (LEM) is primed and ready for the upcoming Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) SuperNationals. As one of the premier teams in the Superkarts! USA program, Greg Bell and his talented group of competitors will travel to ‘Sin City’ for the biggest event on the 2017 calendar, SuperNationals 21.
“It has been a good year for us and I am positive that we can close it out on a high note,” explained Leading Edge Motorsports Greg Bell. “We have never had a more talented group of drivers enter the SuperNats and I have a good feeling about this one. The Praga and Formula K chassis have been on point in SKUSA competition and we would like nothing more than to end the weekend with multiple victories.”
Leading the way into Las Vegas is former SuperNats Champion and factory Formula K driver Gary Carlton. A consistent frontrunner in SKUSA competition, Carlton will be pulling double duty in Las Vegas as he will throw his hat into the mix in both the S1 and KZ categories. Joining Carlton in both the gearbox classes will be European race winner and French pilot Jeremy Iglesias. Piloting Formula K chassis, Carlton and Iglesias will look to work together to find their way to the front of the field come Super Sunday.
Making a return to the SuperNationals competition will be Californian driver Ryan Phinny as he will look to do battle in the S1 division. A former national race winner and champion, Phinny has had tenures in the Formula BMW Series, Firestone Indy Lights Series and American Le Mans Series and will now look to return to his roots and strike gold in Las Vegas.
Bell continued, “Ryan was a great karter back in his junior days but I am excited to have him in a SwedeTech powered Formula K chassis.”
Rounding out the SKUSA SuperNationals driver lineup will be S2 driver Kol Bailey and X30 Senior driver Worawong Komarakul. Both drivers will be on the 2018 Praga Dragon EVO2 and will look to battle their way to the front in some of the most competitive classes SKUSA has to offer.
With a company slogan of “Winning Never Gets Old,” Greg Bell is also looking to coin the phrase, “Win on Sunday and Sell on Monday.”
“Following the SuperNationals, all of Leading Edge Motorsports chassis will be available for purchase,” explained Bell. “Whether they are picked up Sunday following the event, or we ship from our shop in California, everything must go as we prepare for the start of the 2018 racing season.”
Leading Edge Motorsports has already begun preparations for the 2018 season. With arrive and drive opportunities available in all classes including X30 Senior, X30 Junior and Mini Swift in both the national and regional levels of SKUSA competition as well as the KPX 206 program. With a race winning program and success for years, Leading Edge Motorsports will continue to give their customers the highest attention possible with no more than eight drivers under the team tent.
